Description:  
Evaluation and Referral
To provide comprehensive clinical assessment of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders for youth and adults with recommendation made around the treatment that would be most effective in addressing identified needs.  This includes referral to a level of care not available through Horizons Counseling Center.

Individual Counseling Program
To provide individual counseling for young people dealing with problems resulting from their use of alcohol and other drugs.  This includes helping young people address the mental health issues that arise from or are exacerbated by their substance use and abuse.  Families are encouraged to take an active part in the treatment process whenever possible.

Choices
An 8 week group counseling program where young people have the opportunity to examine their choices and the ramification of those choices in all aspects of their lives, including the choice to use or not to use alcohol and other drugs.  It also provides a forum for examining the effects of alcohol and other drug use on one's choices.

Adolescent Treatment Initiative
Providing early detection and intensive treatment for adolescents experiencing substance abuse issues.

Child Health Support Services (Parent Aide)
Short term in home parental education on budgeting, household management, parenting, and other related issues.

Integrated Home Based Services (IHB)
90 day service provided to restore positive functioning families.  Includes family therapy, tracking, and / or parent aide.

Counseling
Therapeutic counseling for children, youth, adults, couples, and families.  Assistance with child behaviors, problems in school, divorce and step-family adjustment, family violence, relationship conflicts, emotional complaints, stress, addictive and self-defeating behaviors, loss and trauma, anxiety, phobias, compulsions.

Permanency Solutions (ISO)
A high intensity, multi-faceted program that tailors a variety of therapeutic, social, and community based services to the specific needs of a child and their families.

Description:  
Child and Family Department
To help children and adolescents with mental health problems live happy, productive lives and to provide support to their families.  Services and programs could include case management, individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric services, including evaluations and medication management, mental illness management services (MIMS), therapeutic recreational experiences for kids (TREK) and psychological testing and evaluation.  Services are home, school, community, and office-based.

Adolescent Treatment Initiative (ATI)
To provide substance sbuse treatment to adolescents and their families utilizing evidenced-based practices.  The Global Assessment of individual Needs (GAIN) is an evidence-based assessment that helps providers get a better understanding about an adolescent and the services they could benefit from.

Description:  
Provides intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment that takes place 4 days per week / 3 hours per day for 4-6 weeks.  Treatment is then followed by a monthly meeting once a week for 12 weeks.

Programs include:

Out of School Suspension Program
To serve as an accountability and prevention program for suspended students.  It is an opportunity to make up outstanding work, keep up with current assignments and participate in community service during the school day.

Upswing
To provide youth and their families with an avenue for resolving problems that they may be having before the situation reaches the state where court involvement becomes necessary through a CHINS petition.

Juvenile Court Diversion
Court Diversion is an early-intervention program that works with first time juvenile offenders.  The program allows the juvenile to take responsibility and learn from their mistakes without going to court and potentially having a juvenile record.

Belknap County Teen Court
Teen Court is a program in which youth are sentenced by their peers.  It is a voluntary alternative to the criminal justice system for young people who have committed an offense.  Teen Court promotes responsible citizenship on the part of the  defendant and the volunteers.

The Challenge Course
Challenge is an educational, community based early intervenion alcohol and other drug abuse program.  The program serves as an early intervention for those youth who are at risk and intends to prevent the progression of substance use / abuse.

Belknap County Family Mediation Program
Mediation is a process that provides families with an opportunity to address issues that are contributing to conflict in the home.  Mediators are neutral facilitators who help families reach solutions to their conflicts.

Prime for Life
A program designed to gently but powerfully challenge common beliefs and attitudes that directly contribute to high-risk alcohol and drug use.  The content, process, and sequence of Prime for Life are carefully developed to achieve both prevention and intervention goals.

Court Diversion
First time offenders are given the opportunity to participate in the program instead of being referred to court.  They are required to take responsibility for their actions and make amends to the community.

Challenge
This is an early intervention drug and alcohol program for youth between the ages of 13-18.  it is targeted for teenagers who are beginning an involvement with illegal substances.

Violence Prevention
To teach youth to express anger and overly aggressive feelings in constructive ways.
