Description:  

Family Planning

Family Planning provides access to preventative and reproductive health care for women and teens.  Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners provide confidential reproductive health care, including:

v      Comprehensive gynecological examinations

v      Screening tests including pap smears and breast exams

v      Routine laboratory testing

v      Testing, treatment and medications for sexually transmitted diseases

v      Diagnosis and treatment of common gynecological problems

v      Pregnancy tests and options counseling

v      Education about reproductive health issues and contraceptive options

v      Pharmacy service including prescription contraceptive methods and other supplies

v      Free immunization for Hepatitis A and B for those 19 and older

Services are available on a sliding fee scale with no one denied access due to age or income.  Currently accepting Medicaid and other insurances- call to verify that we accept your insurance

The Family Planning Program's Community Education Service promotes reproductive and sexual health through services to schools, parents groups, and professional and community organizations.

Services available include workshops, lectures, and training designed for specific audiences on topics such as sexuality, adolescent development, and reproductive health issues including HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.  Consultation services for sexuality education programs and curriculum development are also available.

Teen Clinic

RESPECT     Resources to Educate, Support and Protect Every Community Teen program strives to meet the specific needs of teenagers in accessing reproductive health care.

In addition to all Family Planning medical services, RESPECT staff provides education and counseling on topics such as: birth control, sexuality, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, communication with parents, healthy relationships, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

RESPECT services are provided on a sliding fee scale, and no one will be denied access because of an inability to pay.  We currently accept Medicaid and other insurances- call to verify if we accept your insurance.  Under federal guidelines, parental consent is not required, and all services and visits are completely confidential.

No appointment is necessary at Family Planning, and walk-in services are available at RESPECT clinics in Ossipee (on Mondays, 2:30-5:30), from 2:00-6:00 in Laconia on Tuesday, in Plymouth on Wednesday and Franklin(on Thursday.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinics

Confidential services are available for teens and adults at risk of having an STD.  Services for both men and women include a medical evaluation, laboratory testing, partner referral, and treatment (including medications).

Clinic services are provided on a sliding fee scale based on income with no one denied services due to an inability to pay.  Walk-in clinic hours are available in Laconia and Plymouth and appointments can be made in Franklin and Ossipee.

HIV Counseling and Testing Services

Individuals at risk for contracting HIV are provided confidential or anonymous counseling and testing to determine their HIV antibody status.  Counseling, information on risk reduction and referrals for support services are available.

Clinic services are provided on a sliding fee scale and are available to anyone regardless of the ability to pay.  The clinic in your area can provide testing times and days.  Walk-in clinic hours are available in Laconia and Plymouth, and appointments can be made in Franklin and Ossipee.For information, call 934-4905 (Franklin), 524-5453 (Laconia), 539-7552 (Ossipee) or 536-3564 (Plymouth).

Prenatal Services

The Prenatal Program promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes by providing access to comprehensive care to income-eligible pregnant women and teens who reside in Belknap County.  Services are provided by health care professionals, including Certified Nurse Midwives, physicians, a social worker, nutritionists, and a child birth educator.

Patients receive ongoing medical care, nutrition education including breastfeeding support, WIC services, social services, prenatal health education, childbirth education, access to educational resources, smoking cessation classes, and referrals for other supports.  Patients receive assistance applying for Medicaid and other support services.
