Services provided by this agency:  Victim's Services

Description:  
To assist victims of felony crime that are prosecuted out of the county attorney's office in Belknap County.  Services provided are support to victims, orientation to the criminal justice system, explanation of the criminal justice process, advising of cases, hearing dates, plea negotiation, preparation for trial, court advocacy services such as court room tours, accompaniement and support throughout the court hearing including before and after trial.  Assist victims in applying for victim compensation and make referrals about available financial, medical, psychological, and social services.  Advise victims of their rights under RSA 21:M:8-K, including the right to address the court at sentencing, the right to be notified of parole board hearings and other sentencing charges, and the right to be notified of an appeal.  Assistance with the preparation of victim impact statements.

Eligibility
Any victim of felony crime that the Belknap County Attorney's office is prosecuting.  The AG's Office prosecutes homicide.
